Yes. I created Blanche as a focus point in the book where event revolve her and are affected by which path she decide to walk down when faced with a situation. As we know Blanche's past is a major factor that affect her decisions. She believes that there was no other choice but hide her past because she was afraid that society was going to push her away due her fading beauty and acts she perform when she was younger, however, what she thought was right was see and betrayal to the other character she interacted with. I wanted to display this to show that what was societaly right, Blanche telling the truth, was not see as accepted by her due to reactions she receive from society base on past decisions. Blanche’s husband killing himself was not just for the development of the book but to bring awareness to homosexuality and the struggle that they go to live their daily lives. I wrote this character to reflect apart of myself that I want reader to get to connect to. I want this character to open the reader's mind and change their view on homosexulality. At the end of it I want reader to understand that like other people homosexuals just want to be accepted by other so they don't have to hide their true self so they can be socially accepted in society.
