Bullying In New Mexico

Bullying is extremely harmful, intentional, and repetitive act that destroys some people's lives. Victims are impacted by bullying their whole lives. There are many good people in the world like upstanders who make a difference. In New Mexico, football players have helped kids from being bullied in their community. It is important for the victim to have an advocate.
The effects of bullying on the victim can change their lives forever. One of the most devastating effects of bullying is suicide. Experts in a British survey revealed 20% of the victims attempted suicide from something bully related. Only 3% of the people who were not bullied attempted suicide, which is a scary statistic. Bullies most likely do not realize the consequences of their actions. Many targets are harassed for just a short time, although it still impacted their lives. There is evidence showing kids that who bullied are more likely affected by anger, depression, and anxiety, than non bullied kids. Sometimes it interferes in their grades. No one's grades should drop. Besides short term problems others are long lasting.

In New Mexico there was a kid who was bullied in kindergarten and throughout his school years. A super friendly football player heard about what the kid was experiencing and he wanted to help. The boy was bullied by a clique of other kids. They alienated him and called him names. They made inferences that he was different and that made him a target. The football player decided to eat lunch with him and that caught some other kids’ attention. The New Mexico school wanted to help bullied kids and the football player gave them the idea.
