This could be beneficial towards the company as it saves time and money from interviewing bad, unreliable or unqualified applicants. They also help to ensure that the process is fair so that it creates equal opportunity within the recruitment policies and cultures of the company. This also ensures that you are testing all of your candidates by the same set of standards that you wrote in the person
