Have you even considered what it would be like to not have the option to have as many kids as you want? That is what the people of China had to deal with from the years 1980 to 2015. China's one-child policy was a policy where everyone, with a few exceptions, was only allowed to have one kid, due to China's overgrown population. The one-child policy wasn't a good idea for China, because it didn't affect the population until it was gone, it caused many people to have problems emotionally, and families or members of families will or will continue to suffer because of the policy.

The purpose of the one-child policy in China was to reduce the fertility rate, which would then cause the population to decrease, which is what they wanted. In the chart, in document A, if you look at all the dates you can see that the population isn't predicted to decrease until a few decades in the future. Then in document B you are shown other countries who have had a decrease in their fertility rate without the one child policy, such as Brazil, which moves from 4.2 to 1.9, or Thailand, which moves from 3.6 to 1.8. A large portion of document F is spent talking about how the policy caused Xuao Xuan to get hurt emotionally. It says "she had a mostly lonely childhood." 'I used to cut myself on my wrist after being yelled at by my mom or dad because I didn't know who to talk to or turn to'". There is also a note towards the bottom of the document that states "An internet survey of 7,000 Chinese children between the ages of 15-25 found that 58 percent admitted to being lonely."
