The Roman governor Pontius Pilate was the one who sentenced Jesus to be surged and crucified. Crucifixion, a popular form of capital punishment used among the Romans and other groups of people, where the convicted is whipped, forced to carry a crossbeam to their place of execution, stripped, then the hands and feet are bound or nailed to the cross. They then die a slow and excruciating death. It is said that after dying Jesus was resurrected and went to heaven to be with God. This was discovered when after his body was taken down from the cross and placed into a new tomb on a Friday by Sunday his body was gone and the tomb was empty. People in Christian faith believe that there is one god who is omniscient and powerful. He created everything that exists. He is infinite and eternal. Secondly, they believe that Jesus died for their sins so that they can live. Next, they believe that the father, the son and the Holy Spirit also known as the holy trinity makes up God. Another thing, some of them believe that the bible is a direct word of god meanwhile others believe it as a guide that shouldn’t be followed word by word. Most Christians believe in eternal heaven and hell. Catholics believe in the purgatory. Purgatory is a temporary state after death when the soul needs cleansing before going to heaven.
