This is very beneficial in developing the concrete plans to put policy decisions into practice. They also often have advanced degrees in management, engineering, finance, and other technical areas, a knowledge base they can bring to bear in devising solutions to local problems.
The whole council process to me is really clever and beneficial to the city. The staff members are common elected people with good education who can stay for long periods of time to ensure the city’s future is secure. With this the citizens can find some power in the meetings because without their opinion certain officials would or wouldn’t be there. As goes for some ideas and evaluations for the city.
Decision making is an important part of local government.
