Introduction
What is the performance of a car with regards to a cars transmission type against the miles per gallon used?
Big data analytic implementations cuts across every aspect of an organization. According to Davenport and Thomas (2012), "This term usually refers to data that is either too big, too unstructured, or from too many different sources to be manageable through traditional databases. It is often encountered in online environments such as text, images, and video on websites" (p. 16). Also, with data having the characteristics of velocity, variety, and volume it means we are just at the beginning of harnessing the potentials of data analytics. We can use this set of data to project, forecast, and improve business operations among other applications in the industry such us performance management. This paper looks at how big data with respect to performance management can help us make strategic decisions and projections or insights.

I will have to process the data by means of cleaning the data. This means, I would like to avoid using a dataset that is not clean. Hence, cleaning of the dataset is required. Understanding the dataset and values within the dataset. What values do I need to perform the analysis? What values don’t I need? What values are missing? Going forward, the application of liner regression models, and graphs for visualizations will help identify a pattern with regards to how these two variables (automatic transmission and manual transmission) are related. Applying the models and analyzing R-square values and residuals as well as the p-values, can help make the best decisions in the final
