First of all, a student could raise their G.P.A. if it was low or if it he was unsatisfied with it. The student could retake a test or two that bring their grade point average down like an anchor on a boat. A student with a higher G.P.A. has better confidence in their learning abilities and will try to maintain a high grade point average. Second of all, Colleges notice when students applying have outstanding grades. When a college is searching for new students, it is searching for the ones who put effort into learning and continuously try to improve themselves.…
The colleges will then consider your acceptance based on your college-readiness level in one or more subject areas. Though the option is available, CCP…
Those articles discuss that the quality education is more important than the expensive education in colleges. It is clear from the articles that, education will be effective only when it helps the development of a student's career. Education is vital not only for getting a job but also to be a responsible citizen. As the world gets competitive and modernized, the need of quality education will increase. It is expected that new job opportunities will be…

In “College Students Need to Toughen Up,” Robert Scheslinger writes about the expectation of present day collge students and their belive that they should be graded primarily upon their effort rather than the quality of work and knowledge of the subject. Throughout the article Schelsinger references professors and unniversity officials suhc as a Univwersity of Maryland professor who has alwasy told her students that if they do what’s expected of them they will earn a c. James Hogge, a university of Vanderbilt officla said how many students are getting the level of effort confused with the quality of their work. Schlesinger says that hard work is important in grading but shouldn’t be the standard for grading, the reason for this is becasue hard work for one student…
New and different methods are constantly being attempted. Sioux City schools in Iowa use a four point scale, but are thinking that a five point scale may be a more accurate measure (Forbes, 2015). School systems are pressured not only find the best way to grade students but also to grade schools. The majority of US schools are graded on an A-F scale (which has its problems) but some use more unorthodox systems. Some schools in Michigan use a color scale, but because it can be hard to determine ability based off of a color, they are considering changing this.…
These tests are big and they are not easy. More importantly though the score you get on them defines who you are, you are nothing but a number to these schools, and the higher the number the better. This is tremendously scary. This one test tells you based on how well you do on it that you are not good enough and that is enough to ruin people. Sure it is convenient to have one test in order to sort human beings into categories of intelligence so that you can judge who would benefit the college's test scores.…
The College admission process requires high emphasis on ACT and SAT scores, but these don’t accurately reflect student academic performance and should be abolished. Many officials debate whether we can remove these tests completely. While some experts urge the SAT and ACT as necessary requirements, they can remove to increase academic performance. Because these tests require extensive preparation, college admissions are a hectic process. Since, a student’s future disappears from college reality we should consider alternative results.…

If many students attempted classes that were too difficult; the school would be seen as less successful because the students would not appear to be succeeding. Thus having a regular GPA system could be seen as advantageous to regular students and to the school…
Gym Grades should not impact your grade point average. It is highly unjust for the grades a student receives in physical education to make an impact (more so a deficient one) on their grade point average because it is not fair to the students that do well in all of their other classes besides gym to earn a lowered grade point average because of a class that only seems to be measuring your intelligence off of how competently you can participate in physical activity. There are a number of other reasons why it is not fair, one of them is that some children don’t participate in gym because it makes them feel uncomfortable. It is not fair to those that feel like they physically cannot participate, or legitimately cannot participate to receive a lowered grade even if it is based off of effort. One of my main reasons I believe that a lowered grade point average ensuing from a substandard grade in physical education is…
Some of the similarities between their education systems include that it needs to be paid for, it is necessary to go to school in order to get a job that can support a family, and many people do not finish their education. Because of these similarities, there are also noticeable differences. These include the reasons why students fail to complete their education and what level of education is expected in their country. With the similarities and differences present, it is necessary to know the reason students work to achieve an education, to further their knowledge and improve their life. As a significant value in one’s daily life, it is proper to know how education differs throughout the…
Have you ever asked high school students about their goals? There is no doubt that for most Chinese high school students, “get good scores in Gaokao” is the most common answer. In China, the aim of most high school students is to get ideal grades in Gaokao. Gaokao is also called College Entrance Examination, which is a key examination for Chinese students. It is a competitive examination, which will determine the future of most students (Kirkpatrick and Zang 39).…
For the same reasons, many students receive poor grades in the college. Bad grades in the college are really common among students. However, it might cause serious problems in the future. Such as, bad grades on a job application which is the worse thigh about it. If you try to transfer to a new university it can be a problem to get in the college or to get financial help because many students depend on financial aid from the government and the most import thing for that is grade.…
