What does the word love mean? The word love in the dictionary is defined as a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. Love is a word that means many different things to many different people. For some people, love can be purely romantic, or purely sexual. Sometimes love is entirely unconditional and that kind of love is usually found between family members and life partners. For others, love can be as free flowing as water, ever changing, and everywhere! To these types of people love can be given to everyone. They can love their family, friends, partners, pets, and can even those who have passed away. It’s out of the ordinary but some people can even come to love non-living objects. Though these people are neither right or wrong to love this way, there’s one thing that is definite: love is one of the most powerful forces in the entire universe.
Whether you’re straight or gay, young or old, love is a connection that two people have for one another. The love two individuals share for one another is formed from mutual understanding and respect for one another. Relationships are often formed when two people share common interests. These common interests are often established by

Some people even get that feeling that nothing in the world is more important to them than enjoying the time that they have with one another. I’ve also heard some people claim that individuals can experience love at first sight. I’ve never personally experienced this phenomenon. However, in my opinion relationships are not just something built upon mutual respect and understanding for one another or the “love at first sight.” A relationships is a connection that is much stronger than any of these things especially locking eyes and falling in

To an individual love is a sensation of transforming rather than remaining stagnant – and this metamorphic emotion is not limited only to romantic love. The world revolves around a lot of platonic and self-love, too. Love is subtle, silent, and delicate; and in its beginnings it can be drowned out easily by attachment, fear, and especially lust. Love is powerful – powerful enough to shatter the dirty habits a person bears. Desire – or lust – is reckless.…

We should be magically drawn to another person when we are in love. Love can even be seen as a roller coaster. It includes lust, the extreme happiness and excitement part, as well as attachment. If the relationship is a good one, the brain eventually starts moving toward feelings of attachment. When people get impatient thinking that they will never find love on their own, they turn to things like dating sites, blind dates, and self help books.…

Love is an intangible feeling that you have towards someone; meaning you care for them so much you would make any sacrifice for them. In ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ by William Shakespeare many characters come to believe that they are in love, such as Claudio and Hero. Claudio doesn't love Hero. Hero does not love Claudio.…

Love is an ambiguous feeling; it is often questionable to even those experiencing it whether it does or does not exist, and yet more difficult to analyze from a third perspective. The very definition of love is subjective but at its core it is a strong attraction towards someone that you care for deeply. Shakespeare explored some themes of love in the play Hamlet, such as the relationship between Hamlet and Ophelia. Hamlet originally did have a genuine love for Ophelia but it was lost in the midst of selfishness and revenge.…

Obviously a relationship starts when two people decide to date because they like each other for who they are. Relationships are a test to see if the couple can handle any situation they go through and prove to themselves that they will either be together for a short or long time. I found an article where a woman named Lisa Cleary tried to explain what she thought love meant to her. Cleary said, “Love is...having him take me by the shoulders (even in public) after I've uttered something disgusting about another female and telling me: "You know I think you're beautiful, but I don't think you're beautiful when you cut down others in front of me."... realizing that, after almost three years of dating, I'm no longer ashamed of releasing my morning farts… Letting me stick my cold toes under his legs to keep warm, even in the summer.”…

It is easier to feel love than to explain love. In the wise words of my grandmother “love is the feeling you have in your heart for another person, and giving your heart to that person.” I love this definition that my grandmother gave me because love is not a one sided street. To love you need that other person to give you back the feeling that you give to them. Others answered my question with great answers like “putting someone elses happiness before your own” and “a feeling of peace within your soul.”…

Love Builds Your Character No matter what age, race, gender, or religion, we all crave a deep love of passion for one another. Love can appeal to us in many states of emotion and gestures: sexually, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Sexually, your body can undergo sexual activities (often including sexual intercourse) usually between two people; this stimulates hormones and emotions that arouse feelings of lust and binding “chemistry” to one another. Physically, while your first instinct may be to see that as a shallow reason for loving someone, the truth is it’s very powerful.…
