One out of thirty kids in America are either homeless or living in poverty; that is, about 8 percent of American kids, which are increasing every year (“One in 30 American Children Is Homeless, Report Says”). Demi Lovato wants to help as many kids in poverty and around the world as possible. To do this, she has helped people write 104 articles on her and what she is doing, is a part of 18 charities, and has made 5 videos to speak up about bullying. Even though Demi Lovato is a pop star, she is making a substantial impact for the kids in America and is a great role model for young people because she inspires them to stand up for what they believe in. Demi Lovato is helping kids with her own personal stories due to her experiences with bullying during her past.
DonateMyDress.org is the first national campaign that was designed to encourage girls around the country to donate their prom or special occasion dresses to those who can not afford to buy one for themselves. Demi Lovato and other pop stars helped with the dress drive organization. This organization is the first network of dress drives across the United States.

The DoSomething.org organization helps girls and boys around the world get a new pair of clothes. Demi Lovato attempts to help the organization by speaking her mind in one of the videos about a worldwide problem “Two million teens have nowhere to go at night you can help by donating to DoSomething.org and Aeropostale jeans for teens campaign [...] I’m donating my jeans, clean out your closet and donate yours too” (“Demi Lovato: 2012 Teens for Jeans”). Since Demi Lovato is donating and speaking out about poverty, others will join in the cause to stop poverty worldwide.
