The movie showed more examples of the due process model because during the movie Haller, the lawyer and main character wanted to make things as justified for his clients as he could but he also ran into a problem where he was showing some of the crime control model as well. One of the examples of due process that is shown in the movie is when Frank, Haller’s good friend and investigator, tells Haller that his client has to be guilty because he had a bad feeling about him. This would be an example of due process because Haller says that he cannot be sure that his client is guilty of what he was accused of just because it seems like all the signs point to his client being guilty. Haller was making questioning the prostitute and making assumptions about her to the jury so that they would think that since she is in that line of work she is probably guilty of something and that she set up the assault just for money. The girl that was attacked said that she was not proud of what she did for a living but Haller made it seem like she did this big set up for the money as well because the man who assaulted her, Haller’s current client Roulet, had money and that is what she was after. This would be an example of crime control because people are assuming that because she works as a prostitute that she might be the type of person to lie about something and fake something like this for the money.
