After presenting and completing my visual informative speech, there were several strengths and weaknesses present throughout my speech. Some of my strengths, with respect to the content of the speech as I did my visual presentation, was that I did a good job with the introduction. The introduction involved introducing my topic and grabbing the attention of my audience. Also, I had great supporting materials and most importantly great organization of my main points. As for the delivery aspect of my speech, according to the video, I had a good posture and used my flash cards very well, which were very helpful in delivering my speech.…
Effective leaders come from all sizes, colors and religions. There are countless qualities that build an impressive leader. The two that are crucial, in my opnion, are effective communication and respect. Displaying these and other qualities is important and doing so has impacted my life as well as the lives of the people around me. Effective communication is a key component of leadership because many problems arise from substandard communication skills and when appropriate commendation is handed out it is more likely that the entire group will thrive.…
When communicating in CE1 the process that worked especially well is the “medium.” We were able to sit in a group and use verbal communication to have an open discussion. I knew that the Solders were interested in learning this additional duty, because I was receiving good questions on the processes. We were able to open up the briefing slides and discuss why the bosses needed to see information on a slide and the format that we might need to change in the future. The communication process that failed in CE2 is, “decoding.” Because the Air Guard does not see the importance, or relevance on why we need to go through this accreditation process, during the meeting we ran into many barriers to the recommendations that were proposed that influenced…

As stated in the Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6-0 (2012), “Communication is the means through which commanders exercise immediate personal control over their forces. Communication links information to decisions and then those decisions to actions. During the operations process, commanders will not make any decisions without first communicating effectively with their subordinates. For the reason that military operations require joint efforts, effective communication is imperative (ADP 6-0, 2012).” Communication in many forms is important to ensure that accurate and appropriate information is disseminated correctly and effectively through the ranks to accomplish the mission…

Working at the base affords me the opportunity to sit through at least one long briefing a week. These briefings are held and conducted by a varying complement of the base’s senior leadership. The theme is usually the current state of the base, both the positive and negatives of the situations and current hot topics. At some point these briefings always to turn to some upcoming change or new process about to be implemented. This is where the briefings always turn downhill.…

After noticing the speaker’s confidence during the speech, it became clear that his calmness and ability to speak clearly, his ability to refer to his notes and to use the power point at the same time and also his ability to ensure he was the source of the information he was giving made his delivery good. This informative speech could have been improved with more body movement during the transitions and a good eye contact with the…
Effective communication is at the core of any successful business. It creates a sense of transparency in the organization. This allows trust to flow throughout employees at every echelon. It helps to spike increases in productivity and the flow of work becomes much smoother. When employees are in the dark about what is going on in a company they can become stressed and develop a sense of insecurity which results in a great deal of tension in the workplace.…
When I worked as a server this past year I made sure to always use very polite language, because in the restaurant world “the guest is always right.” But at the same time, when I have to send an email to a higher authority than myself such as an employer or a professor, I tend to use powerful language, as this type of language is much more professional and lacks personal elements. While…
The learning experience that I have chosen to discuss about is preparing for the poster presentations. During this experience, I had to identify and explain the benefits and challenges of inter- professional practice. This was the question that me and my group were given, and we had to deliver it in a presentation format to an audience, which was my class. To go about doing this, I had use and deliver a range of skills and apply it to practice in order to prepare for the presentation. According to Kolb’s Experimental Learning Cycle, (1984), it articulates in the first stage about concrete experience, where me and my group were assigned a task, which consisted of active involvement.…
Professional Development Plan Reflecting the materials from previous weeks in regards to building my own professional development pland (PDP), this analysis will analyze personal goals and strategies. In my scholastic journey, I have apperceived both strengths and weaknesses in which I have set to invigorate every semester. I decided to attend the Doctorate program with the understanding that I would have to work harder in reinforcing my impuissances especially the ones concerning the inditement skills. Supplementally, my intrest in the ability to communicate efficiently was engendered from an anterior employer.…
