Ancient Egypt was one of the world’s most developed civilizations for almost 3,000 years. In fact, four of the world's most important ancient cultures are known as the river civilizations. The river system the Egyptians had to live off of was called the Nile River. Vitally important to Ancient Egypt, the Nile River provided significant social, cultural, and economic development.…
These pharaohs would ultimately protect Egypt from outside invaders and lose dependency on Egypt’s natural boundaries to isolate the kingdom. In the absence of isolation, there was imminent pressure to improve defenses to avoid conquer. In an attempt to fulfill this, Egypt itself became a conqueror. One of the first conquering pharaohs was Thutmose I. As a result of his conquests, the land of Egypt was expanded to Syria, Nubia, and farther south to the Fourth Cataract drastically improving Egyptian influence, lessening its chances of being attacked.…
Instead of mistreating and restricting the freedom of the Egyptian people, the Hyksos added to it by bringing new innovations, and creating a wealth in Egypt. They opened traded with foreign civilizations, which deeply enhanced the economy. Furthermore they had respect for the Egyptian culture by taking in their religious beliefs, and then preserving them, with the restoration of its artifacts and writings. The introduction of bronze, and technology, brought Egypt into the New Kingdom. The mystery of the Hyksos period leaves a whole lot of unanswered questions about these people.…

n 1817 François read a review of his paper titled ‘Egypt under the Pharaohs’ which was published by an anonymous Englishman which was really positive telling François that he should return and review his old research. It was speculated that this was written by Young but the allegations appeared fairly unlikely as Young was highly critical of François’ work. Not long after François began to look for employment at the University in Grenoble again which succeeded. This was not necessarily positive as teaching consumed most of his and he could not do much research or go on local archeological finds. In the midst of all of this happening Young was still working on the Rosetta stone, in 1819 he published a major article in The Encyclopedia Britannica about ‘Egypt’…

Not only did ancient Egypt have a sufficient amount of food to supply for themselves, they also had such a surplus, that they could supply their neighbors with their grain. First and foremost, having a food surplus wasn’t the most common because usually civilizations only had what was necessary, instead of extra. Also, Egypt is in the middle of a desert, so them having a surplus in grains is far from what would be expected. Egypt is sometimes referred to as the “Breadbasket” of the ancient world because of this. Lake Victoria was in the middle of a rain forest, causing a lot of water in the Lake, which eventually flowed North to Egypt.…
