Brendon Daley asserted, “Eminem was the best-selling artist of the 2000’s, and the 83rd best artist of all time according to Rolling Stone Magazine. He has sold over 155 million albums, and is one of the bestselling artists of all time.” “Lose Yourself” was part of the 8mile soundtrack which was an anecdote to Eminem’s life. Eminem was supposed to be rapping as his character Rabbit in 8mile about his life struggles and how he needs to succeed. It took Eminem about a whole year to write “Lose Yourself” because he was trying to find the balance between rapping about Rabbit’s life and making it feel real enough in order for it to reflect his own life. This track was created in 8mile, a town in Detroit, Michigan, where Eminem lived.
