Essay On Community Health Profession

Community-focus is one of the key values that I hope to incorporate into my future medical career. I believe that health cannot be isolated and must be considered more holistically in order to create long term change. By considering how the many factors that contribute to health interact, including education, stress, and access to resources like healthy foods and green space, health care providers can improve the health of individuals and entire communities. Through community health and public health initiatives like health education, impact can be made beyond treating an individual patient. Another value that I have seen the importance of is cultural awareness. Cultural awareness can greatly increase the efficacy of community health measures, such as deciding which mediums and styles are most effective for presenting health education information. Knowledge of cultural differences can also help providers to be respectful and considerate especially when addressing sensitive issues in a community. Medical education is always changing and I believe the incorporation is one of the most beneficial and significant developments that has occurred. Learning about how to use my medical education to impact community health is something that I am very excited for in my time in medical school. I am also looking forward to expanding my knowledge of different cultures and how to work with and address issues that can arise when working across cultures. I believe this interaction and education will allow me to be a more compassionate and well-equipped
