The pupils I instruct are all dedicated, witty and responsible (even the troublemakers). By teaching them, I am able to improve my own fencing abilities, gain confidence and learn to talk clearly in front of large groups. As I increase my experience teaching, my goal is to start instructing classes for new fencers and to begin giving one-on-one lessons to the girls I already work with. In school, I am a member of Homestead’s robotics club. During my coming years as a member, I will apply for and hope to earn an officer position within the club. Becoming an officer would allow me to learn more about robotics, and be a more influential participant in an activity I enjoy. By taking on more responsibility before my senior year, I will be able to learn vital skills by the time I graduate. When I graduate from high school in 2018, I want to have done my academic best during my four years at Homestead. During freshman year I was able to maintain a 4.0 grade point average and I felt I understood what I was taught. However, I occasionally struggled when managing time. This year I am working to improve how I use time by organizing what I need to accomplish into achievable goals and creating a schedule for when I need to complete assignments. When I graduate senior year, my ambition is to be able to work more efficiently on academic tasks, and to feel like I can use what I have learned in high school when pursuing further
