Three heroes who should be honored in the Hero Hall of Fame are Jackie Robinson, Martin Luther King, and Harriet Tubman. The first person who should be in the Hero Hall of Fame is Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play baseball in the Major Leagues. He also broke the baseball color barrier in 1959, giving other African-Americans the chance to play in the Major Leagues. When Jackie Robinson first entered the Major Leagues he received many racist insults and dozens of threats because he was African-American. He also received a lot of hate mail, and even death threats all because of his skin color. Martin Luther King Jr. was an African-American wanting the same rights as whites. “He gave the I have a dream speech” which was one of the main steps taken to help abolish slavery. He was a big part of the help to get African-Americans equal rights. He also marched in several marches for equal rights. During one of the marches, Martin Luther King Jr. marched in to get freedom and equal rights in Birmingham, Ala, Martin Luther King Jr. was arrested and sent to jail. The reason why I think Martin Luther King Jr. should be in the hero hall of fame is because he helped to get African-Americans equal rights and the white people.
