There was already a resistance against Unwinding (small groups of people), but as more and more people joined together, the movement became stronger. Connor’s mission is to continue this movement, in order to bring change in his society for, "he has his work cut out for him, changing the world and all, but things are already in motion; all he has to do is keep up the momentum. And he doesn't have to do it alone. He has Risa, Hayden, and every Unwind here" (335). Connor’s actions resulted in a monumental reaction as he has now gathered support from others in his community as the small acts of resistance can grow with the help of others. A community can be harmful as a mobs feed off of anger and violence as people in a community join together and cause chaos. Innocent people can be hurt in these cases since it is so easy for people to join together in this way. For one, in the novel Unwind, a dangerous mob of angry Unwinds was formed over a rumor and exponentially grew in order to cause violence against the Admiral. When the bodies of the Goldens were discovered and someone suggested that the Admiral killed them "the suggestion becomes a rumor, and the rumor quickly becomes accepted as fact... A mob of unwinds with a hundred reasons to be angry have all simultaneously found one more, and that's all it takes to push them over the edge. The mob storms toward the Admiral's jet, picking up more and more kids along the way"" (245). All it takes is a spark for these angry Unwinds to rally together and cause destruction and violence in the Graveyard as a way to express this anger. Clearly, it is so easy for a gathering in to get out of hand and this is not only evident in the novel, but also in today's society. For one, violence broke out in August during the weekend of a white nationalist rally (“Unite The Right” rally) in Charlottesville, Virginia. Even though the rally was canceled, so many people were brought together that the tensions quickly got out of hand. The news article Charlottesville Rally Violence: How We
