David and Thomas are mainstreamed in school but have special ed pull out classes. Both boys get speech at school. David’s speech class is mostly for maintenance as he has had speech for seven years. Thomas has speech two times a week at school. David sees the school psychologist for therapy once a week or as needed for problems at school. David has had therapy outside of school with mental health services in the past to deal with personal space issues and negative and aggressive behaviors, he is not getting outside therapy at this time as it is not needed.
David and Thomas are both on medication, mostly for hyperactivity to keep them focused during the school day. David is taking a mood stabilizer since he tends to have extremes with his mood. Sometimes Carrie says that the medication helps and sometimes it doesn’t help and they have to change the medication. Unless it is really bad, the medication can go without being changed for six
