The fall of one of the largest empires in the world was tragic to the people who lived there. Rome was so powerful and great, no one thought that they would ever lead into a great decline, that would end the empire. Rome was feared and strong, how could Rome fall so quickly without warning? This happened because the empire grew too quickly, their army became weak, and they never had a stable government. When Rome was at its highest peak in population and size, the borders became too hard to maintain.…
The Roman Empire fell apart due to poor decisions in military, political, and economic policies. At the empire’s height it stretched from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea, the empire had to stretch its military thin to provide troops on every front. The Fall of Rome People believe that Rome fell for many different reasons. Some people believe that Rome never fell at all. Rome had many problems in their empire which lead to their fall. They began to think, after all their government changes, that their empire was stable. This led to the very careless decisions of some of their leaders. Rome, at this time, was more about quantity over quality, and this shows in some of their, what used to be, “great works,” (Document: background essay). Their writing suffered at the demand for more literature, and the soldiers had less efficient battle-ware. All of these thoughts led of being a better culture led the disagreeable decisions made by the people.…

In “The Fall of Rome — an author discussion,” authors Bryan Ward-Perkins and Peter Heather present and confer their stances related to the fall of Rome. Though the two historians disagreed on a few concepts, they both definitely agreed that the fall of Rome was caused by a violent struggle through several “series of unfortunate events.” Contrary to other historians, like Walter Goffart, Ward-Perkins and Heather agreed that each time the Romans ceded land to foreign adversaries, their internal state of affairs were disrupted. For 70 years, Heather states, the Romans “struggled to survive” amid their “loss of vital, agricultural, tax base,” and their difficulty to maintain their military manpower. For example, Alexander Severus, who was Emperor from 222-235, was murdered by his own troops when he refused to increase their pay.…
World Studies Period 7 Mrs. Mann The Roman Republic and the Common Good By, Samantha Schmitz Introduction Ancient Rome is known to be a powerful and well put together civilization that was somewhat meeting the common good. The city had a huge population with a strong government.…
The influential and dominant Roman Empire fell due to overexpansion which led to the Empire being split and created vulnerability among the Empire. When Romulus Augustus died, the Roman Empire lost sight of their polytheistic and slave driven society, which lead to disagreement of right and wrong amidst the people. After Romulus Augustus no one man was able to govern the whole Roman Empire, this forced Diocletian to divide Rome into two Empires, the Western and Eastern Empire. Once Rome had lost their dominant ruler, they became vulnerable and weak to outside attacks, this lead to a decline in trade and overall income which made it impossible for the Empire to survive. The prosperous Roman Empire was founded in 27 BC, but after grueling outside…
I would hope that in my six years prior to being promoted to an assistant principal, I would have laid the foundation for positive relationships with the students, or at least some pocket of students. Additionally, I would think about the mindset of not necessarily the students, but the current faculty and staff and begin to measure the outlook that is currently in place. From here I would want to make changes that lead the community to a more positive mindset and outlook. Green (2013) states, “Effective leaders emphasized the development of interpersonal relationships while focusing on the personal needs of followers and the development of the kinds of relationships that would motivate followers to set and achieve high performance goals”.…
The Roman Empire was a great and powerful force that influenced many other civilizations after it fell, but before and leading up to its decline it faced many problems. The Empire fell due to the cause of internal and external problems: unstable economics, weakened political and government structure, and ineffective military. These problems show that In document 1, it states that inside the empire the few citizens believed that “the old civilization was worth saving [anymore].” The Roman’s did not feel the pride or morale that they did earlier in the empire, and as they were slowly “excluded from political responsibilities” it led to social inequality and when they could no longer protect themselves there was no chance to rebuild from the…
The Empire of Rome was certainly one of the greatest in the history of mankind, but it fell. Why did it so? Given the complexity of the Empire’s organization and its long-lasting life, it is hard to assign one or two exact reasons which may exclusively be accountable for its fall. The point is that there were many reasons generated by many different triggers that have contributed to the fall of Empire. One can point simultaneously to internal and external factors which played a role in the weakening of the Empire and on leading it to eventual falling apart.…
Julius Caesar transformed Rome from a growing empire into a mighty empire. Throughout many battles, many affairs and many risks, Caesar became one of the most feared leaders in history. He had other leaders running away from him or trying to take him down for many years, and no foreign leaders accomplished their goal. Caesar was not only strong in a military sense, he was one of the smartest leaders as well. Julius Caesar was a successful leader because he knew how to manage his power and popularity, he handled foreign policy very well, and he knew how to show his strengths.…
In document 5, Montanelli states that “Rome, like all great empires, was not overthrown by external enemies but undermined by internal decay”. This meaning, that the fall of Rome was dependant on the military crisis. Numbers made it hard for Rome’s military strength to prosper. The lack of children, and great numbers of foreigners caused for a lack of soldiers. Montanelli also says that “The Roman army [was] composed entirely of Germans.”…
