Some may prefer the idea of gun control or banning guns is the only to stop deaths. According to the National Survey of Law Enforcement, “many proposed gun control measures – including bans on assault weapon – will be ineffective at reducing violent crime and that legal gun ownership by private citizens would prove a better safeguard.” Although having a strict gun control may have it’s benefits when reducing death, we must use gun control moderately to decrease the amount of illegal activity surrounding guns.…

The 2nd Amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. Many Americans believe in and benefit from this right, however, the freedom to bear arms at times may come with significant and sometimes deadly consequences. The right to bear arms is a relatively easy process. Americans are victims to innocent deaths such as murders and accidental shootings due to the ease at which one can own a gun.…

The general argument made by author Paul Waldman in work “The Case For Banning Guns”, is that guns are pretty much the reason for all the murders, suicides, and mass shootings. And that if guns were banned our society would be better off. More specifically, Waldman argues that he believes guns should be banned. He states that he understands the many reasons gun owners have for not wanting the weapons to be banned. These reasons are valid such as uses for self defense, hunting, or the weapon is just important to the family and has been passed down through generations.…

According to Kim Krisberg, an advocate for the Nation’s Health, in 2010 more than 105,00 U.S. residents were either killed or injured by a gun. I believe that gun control should be enforced, but shouldn’t totally abolish guns because not everyone will use a gun to harm someone. If we enforce gun control, make it harder to get a gun, and allow the government to help us with gun control, lots of lives could be saved. As mentioned before, in 2010, there were 105,000 U.S. residents that were killed or injured by a gun, and with suicides outnumbered homicides for all age groups between 2000 and 2010 (Krisberg, Kim 1).…

In Nicholas Kristof article, “Our Blind Spot About Guns,” he argues, if we can make cars safer, we should be able to do the same with guns. In the article, Kristof states, “if we had the same auto fatality rate today that we had in the 1921, by my calculations we would have 715,000 Americans dying annually in vehicle (161).” With this being said he is trying to imply that cars use have high death rates, but the government added regulations which lowered the death rate. If we are able to add regulations to the cars we should be able to do it with guns too. Another thing is technology is so advanced that we should be able to use it to help regulate guns.…

In America, there is a growing perception that guns are: they are harmful, they kill, and they commit crimes, and so most guns should be banned. But, how can a gun kill or commit crimes; it is not a living thing, it is a tool. With the use of guns, America has grown to be a strong and independent country throughout history. The push to ban guns will only keep guns away from law abiding citizens since criminals, by nature, do not follow laws and respect the gun free zones. The banning of guns in America should end.…
