Explain Why I Want To Be A Cmc Essay

Decent Essays
Claremont McKenna College (CMC) is where I want to grow.

I want to discover the world here, and be surrounded by people who value the importance of being a trailblazer in society. I want a campus that is personal; where professors would know me by my first name. I want a community so inclusive, that I would be able to have friends in majors completely different than mine.

We have to be ready to put the world on our shoulders, be resilient, and be excellent improvisationalists. We need to have the mentality that says, “Put all the pressure on me, I can handle it.” I am someone who redefines the way things were done in the past, and I use my past experiences as my drive in life.

CMC provides an environment where there are no boundaries

A career in corrections appeals to me for a number of reasons. I enjoy working with other people and excel working with people from different backgrounds other than my own. While I was in the Army there was strong demand for a structured work environment. This is something I desire in a career and feel that corrections as other professions in law enforcement demand high level of structure and expect nothing less. To attain this expectation requires individuals to be highly disciplined, so they are able to give 100 percent every moment they are not only on the clock, but when you’re on your own time as well.…

I have kept the same friends since middle school and honestly there is not much diversity between us. I would benefit from NC State’s campus because it would broaden my view of other cultures and beliefs, and force me to reflect on my own opinions. This reflection could lead to exposure to different life experiences and therefore learning from others. Exposure to diversity will help me grow as a person and a student.…
