Testing students in subjects such as science and social studies is not fair to all students. Since 25%-40% of students get test anxiety, even if they study and know their stuff, they still blank out, freeze up, zone out, or feel so nervous that they cannot write the test. Such as doing projects to get students to learn more about a topic and bring it together with essays, slideshows, timelines, demonstrations and many other ways. When they bring it together and present it the teacher can see right there how much time and effort they put into it and how much they have learned. As well as learning by doing group activities, having group discussions, taking board notes as well, the usual homework and worksheets. Uniquely teachers could have small and easy quizzes at the end of each class to recap what was just taught while it is still fresh in their heads.
