Practicum students/social worker are obligated to provide the best service to the clients. Therefore, listening to the clients’ issues during the assessment phase may bring about change. Effective assessments are an attribute to the client’s treatment plan and the student’s hands on experience.
The strengths/skills that are displayed during the practicum placements includes actively listening and critical thinking. Being absent from the practicum leads to a break in the continuation of services which as an impact on the clients. Gaining a master’s degree in social work is just the start in forging your career as a social worker. A master’s degree proves you've met the educational requirements.
