For snack time each child is told to sit in their chair and then the teacher gives them a cup of water and the snack of the morning. Their job is to take care of their napkin or plate when they are done and to put their cup where it belongs. After all of their friends are done eating they are then allowed to put their chair away and begin what activity they have next. For lunch they do the same thing where the food is placed on the table and they are told to go sit down in a seat depending on if they are having a home lunch or a lunch from the center. The only options that some children have are if they want to have something in their lunchbox or not. The children do not have to eat everything on their plate if they do not want to, but they have to finish everything of one type of food, in order to get seconds on that food choice. They again are in charge of throwing away their plates and placing their cups on the shelf. The teachers will allow the children to stop eating when they say they are done unless they have barely touched anything. The teachers also remind the children when the next time they will eat and that they will be hungry if they do not eat. They try to keep the children facing the table and eating instead of playing with their food. If the child is a picky eater than the parent will have to provide them with a meal for that day since there is only one option that the center makes per meal or snack.
