Magazines have created a virtual community for women. This is created, Rheingold says, when "enough people carry on public discussions long enough, and with enough human feeling, to form webs of personal relationships” (1993). This “community of the ideal housewives” has been created by advertisement, different articles with domestic advices. We can clearly seen this on the example of the magazine “Nash’s” (August 1929) . On the cover we can see young women in a quite conservative outfit. This magazine was made mostly for housewives. Even the advert of the drink from this magazine is also showing us the model of the ideal family. In other words women’s magazines of that time always tried to direct women in the ways to charm men, cook, clean and care for a household. It was everything about how to make your husband happy being a perfect wife what means to be a good cook.
