Sustainable Consumption: French fries
The article, “Study Sheds Light on Broadening U.S. Hunger Problem” was very interesting to read. I am thankful for programs that help people out when they are in need for food because sometimes I have to get help from their services. I would always wonder why most healthy foods were for a higher price than unhealthy foods; I believe that is why most people are having a hard time getting rid of fat. Maybe stores should have discounts on items for college students and other groups who struggle the most in the world. It is a shame that several Americans are going through programs to survive, maybe the food prices in stores need to be lowered for everyone in general.

The body digests the potatoes carbohydrates quickly, which cause insulin and blood sugar to surge then dip, this is called high glycemic load. People who most likely eat potatoes can develop heart disease, diabetes, or obesity. Women who eat potatoes all the time can be at a greater risk of having diabetes (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health”). Potatoes not only can cause health issues but environmental issues as well.
The article “6 Pros and Cons of Conventional Farming” mentions that growing potatoes can bring environmental issues to the earth. When pesticides are washed off the potatoes by rain, some of the pesticide goes in the rivers. Animals such as fish are located in the rivers and they die because of the poison from the pesticides (“6 Pros and Cons of Conventional Farming”). Potatoes are delicious to eat, but brings harm to the earth while being grown, my next topic is discussing about unhealthy food

Some people have more of a heart and strength to eat healthier. Some people will continue to eat whatever they want because they are too weak or lazy to make a change. I learned people are creatures of habit and it takes about two weeks for people to create a new habit. Maybe most people could take about two weeks to make food thoughtfulness to become a habit. Some people will change while others will never change their food consumption ways. People will change when they are ready; my next topic is wrapping up my final
