Friar Lawrence is blamed for Romeo and Juliet’s Death
Romeo and Juliet is a love story which is considered to be a tragical story, as both of them die at the end. There are many characters to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death, but Friar Lawrence is mostly to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The author William Shakespeare is an English writer, who makes tragedy, comedy and historical works in poetry and prose. Friar Lawrence is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death. He helped Juliet fake her death, he fled from the tomb and he did not make sure that the letter that had the plan had to reach Romeo. Firstly, Friar Lawrence is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death because he helped Juliet fake her death. Which led to Romeo's death because it caused the servant to tell Romeo false information of Juliet's death. Friar Lawrence made a mistake by trusting an unstable 14 years old to drink the potion. Friar Lawrence shows how irresponsible he is by trusting someone else to deliver the letter to Romeo. If Friar Lawrence had delivered the letter personally, the plan would have worked out and been smoother. Friar Lawrence says, “ who bare my letter, then to Romeo?” (5.2.13). Which Friar Johnson who Friar Lawrence chose to give the letter to Romeo said, `` I could not send it-- here it is again-- Nor get a messenger to bring it thee, so fearful were they of infection`` ( 5.2.14-16). In this Friar Johnson tells Friar Lawrence how he could not deliver the message and how he could not send a messenger either because they were scared to spread the infection.
