George Washington, how did he become such an important role character in US history? What paths did he have to take in order to become one of the most recognizable men in North America? Later with the help of his family he excelled in mathematics and learned the rudiments of surveying the land, unfortunately for Washington his father’s death let to financial instability therefore he could not attend college. His life as a solar ended around his fifteenth birthday. At the end of his education Washington spirit demanded adventure and risk so he decided to become a land surveyor, in his new job he could explore the wilderness and test his mathematical skills in a whole new level. After his first year he had already established himself as a member of a gentry class, when he knew that he had the proper financial support he finally bought some land of his own to start building his own home. Later on January 6th, 1759 he married a widow named Martha Dandridge Custis. “Martha Washington had two young children from her first marriage, Martha and John she had no children with George Washington.
