Jamal is a very self motivated person and shows a lot of traits throughout the movie that motivates him even more. One of the main people that motivated Jamal I believe is Forrester, even though Forrester wasn’t clearly noticed as a motivator, he motivated him to continue to do good because he knew he had it inside him. I also believe basketball was a motivation to him because he had to do good in school to continue to be on the basketball team he was on. Lastly all of the negative feedback from others were nothing but motivation to him, just because people didn’t like him or picked on him for things such as plagiarizing it never stopped him from trying hard. I believe these factors were intrinsic because they were just made naturally.…

Growing up in one of the poorest regions of the United States has taught me two things; one, we are not defined by stereotypes, and two, hardships are made to be overcome. Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, Middlesboro, KY sits on the Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia border. The multicolored fall foliage and the vivid green mountains in the spring are disserved by the descriptor spectacular. My roots are firmly nestled in the Cumberland Gap where Daniel Boone started his journey to the West decades ago. I am proud to call myself an Appalachian-American.…

According to Occupational Outlook Handbook, psychologists study cognitive, emotional, and social processes and human behavior by observing, interpreting, and recording how people relate to one another and their environments. This field fascinations me for the reason that I aim to assist people when life throws them a curve ball. I intend to accomplish a difference in someone’s life and truly being a helping hand. When I took the Kuder Skills Confidence Assessment, my Holland code occurred to be SCI. The Holland code matches the career I intend to pressure since the S stands for social, the C stands for conventional, and the I stands for investigative.…

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks for taking your time to consider my candidacy for the Educational Psychology/School Psychology program at the University of Wisconsin. I have always been drawn to behavioral psychology, the phenomenon of learning, and educational processes. With ever-increasing learning demands, and limited time and resources, I quickly learned that inevitably some children fail to perform adequately among their peers. This reality came quite clear to me through my experience working and substitute teaching in a public elementary school.…
