The world is much better now than it was 60 years ago because of our technological advances since then. We have better computers in our phones than we did to land a person on the moon. The medical field has had the greatest change of them all. A long time ago, if you were diagnosed with cancer the only thing you could do was say your goodbyes. Now, we have medicines and machines to help combat these things. According to the University of Berkeley, the life expectancy of 1950 was "71 years for those living in developed countries." By 1998, the life expectancy was "79.9 years". In just 48 years we were able to add 9 more years to our lives. Now think of how much better out technology is than what it was in 1998.
