Healthcare informatics has taught me so much over the past 10 weeks. The knowledge I have learned definitely changed my perspective on exactly what healthcare informatics is. There was a great deal of information that I did not think pertained to this overall topic, information that I can take with me for the rest of my life working in the healthcare world. Examples of some key points learned in the healthcare informatics class revolved mostly around health information technology, electronic medical and health records. These three components shaped the entire class and they truly are important. In all honesty, I had no idea those key components were involved with healthcare informatics.
