On 13Feb17 at 1306 hrs. I, Deputy Halbasch, was asked to speak with Cristin Burmayer in reference to her daughter, Sara Evans, skipping school on a regular basis recently.
Cristin informed me she wished for Sara to be placed at Evergreen Shelter in Bemidji as Sara once again skipped school in Walker. Cristin stated she had to depart this morning for work before Sara was to get a ride to school from her friend, Madison Zismer. Later in the morning, Cristin found out from the school that Sara had not been to class. Very shortly after, Cristin advised dispatch that Sara was not at the home, and she was believed to be in the City Park in Walker. Cristin informed me on the phone that Madison was going to pick her up & bring her home. During this same time, I was in contact with Kevin Zismer, in an attempt to locate Madison. Kevin informed me he was out of the area for health reasons and believed Madison to be at school.
At 1412 hrs. I arrived at 55 1st Ave SW in Laporte and witnessed Sara being dropped off. I spoke with Madison on the roadway about the circumstances. Madison stated she was in class and received a SnapChat message from Sara saying she was crying & at the park in Walker. Madison then left school to give her a ride home. Madison informed me that Sara had been sad recently for reasons she would not share with her. Madison stated to me she knew that Sara was using marijuana in the past as she received videos & pictures of Sara smoking
