The industrial and economic developments of the Industrial Revolution brought both hardships and progresses. The Industrial Revolution made a huge change throughout the world, marking a major turning point for human history with significant social changes of the way people live and interact with each other. The industrial revolution brought progresses such as world trade and new inventions and innovative ideas. The industrial revolution also brought hardships as well resulting in poverty and child labour. A thesis statement is needed to allude to what your opinion/view will be throughout the essay.

Children were often working long 10 to 14 hour shifts a day without breaks and minimal payment making child labour highly profitable for the owner of the business. Children were often performing simple task so they were able to work these long hours at such a young age, due to no safety regulations children would crawl into tight places to either fix or retrieve items resulting in many workplace deaths. In the 1750’s 14% of the workers in the industrial revolution were under the age of 14 and were paid very small wages for their services and orphans would barely earn enough as they had no family to work for. Due to the industrial revolution children were forced to go work for their families in unhygienic, dangerous factories with no health and safety regulation. due to there not being many positions in these larger factories for adults as they were replaced by new machinery of the industrial …show more content…
With great advances in progress of the Industrial revolution came many hardships for the lower class who suffered from losing their jobs or had to send their children to work to sustain a livable lifestyle. The Industrial revolution changed our future and our modern society has benefitted greatly from the advancements in technology as well as our modern society being able to learn from the mistakes to avoid the hardships that the industrial revolution
