Did you know, homework was viewed as a sin during the Progressive Era because it deprived children from their play time? Today, society is expressing similar concerns. Homework seldom improves academic performance. Sure, through homework one can get high scores in a standardized test, but in my own point of view using standardized tests as indicators of how well a student understands a lesson can be inaccurate. Students tend to memorize and not understand the lesson in means of studying for a test. Don’t even try to deny it. I know because I’m one of those students.
