How Are There Any Two Examples Of Cause And Effect?

Decent Essays
An example of cause and effect in this novel is, when Pa left, Ma was in the house and Mary and Laura were playing outside with Jack, the dog. They saw two Indian men walk into their house. Before Pa left, he told them to not let Jack loose. Laura was going to let him off the leash and Mary objected. She reminded Laura what Pa had said and they decided to go in the house without letting Jack off the leash. When Pa later got home they told him and he said that their decision to not let him loose saved his life and the rest of the family.

silas marner is a great example of chaos theory, specifically the butterfly effect. It displays how necessary each event is for the lives of all to continue. If any of the events in the novel did not occur the entire story would be thrown off course within the novel all the characters have an impact on each others lives. With the slightest variation in the actions of any of the main characters, multiple characters would either have no purpose or possibly be dead.…

Shirley Jackson’s use of foreshadowing kept the reader in suspense until the very end. We first encounter foreshadowing at the very beginning, “The morning of June 27th was clear and sunny, with the fresh warmth of a full-summer day; the flowers were blossoming profusely and grass was richly green.” (Jackson 443). Jackson has set a false sense of security, by opening the story on such a positive note, only for it to end on such a dark note. Another case of foreshadowing is when “Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, and the other boys soon followed his example” (Jackson 443).…

In Lord of the Flies, the boys are influenced by environmental factors and biological factors. Biological factors are our impulses, our need to eat, our decision making, and environmentally is the situation you’re in; how you react to it. In two articles, Martyn Shuttleworth’s “Stanford Prison Experiment,” and Amanda Leigh Mascarelli’s “Teenage Brain,” they both discuss the effects of biological and environmental factors on the brain. Therefore, the large amount of evidence supporting how environmental factors and biological factors both play a big role supports that the boys are affected by both biological and environmental factors. One compelling reason, in Lord of the Flies Jack is impacted by environmental factors in the story since his attitude changes drastically throughout.…

The plaintiff must establish a general causation and specific causation. A general causation addresses if a reliable scientific basis exists to determine if the substance can cause the harm alleged while the specific causation addresses the existence of a reliable scientific basis to show that the substance did in fact cause the harm. Determining both of these causations are important in establishing a favorable judgment. In addition, plaintiffs could often rely on experts who conduct a differential diagnosis. Depending on the court, this method may increase favorability since some courts agree that this constitutes sufficient foundation.…

As many writers do, both Nathaniel Hawthorne and Laura Esquivel utilize a biased speaker in order to manipulate the reader’s interpretation of certain characters. In her novel, Like Water for Chocolate, Esquivel’s narrator shows a sympathetic bias towards Tita, and leads the reader to condemn Mama Elena, the force which acts upon Tita. Similarly, the speaker in Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter evokes sympathy in the reader for Hester, and establishes within the reader a sense of dislike for the Puritan officials. The bias of these narrators causes the novels to be alike in that the reader finds him or herself anticipating the downfall of the antagonizing force and the rise of the main character, who until the turning point is the subordinated force in the novel.…
