How Did Martin Luther King Impact The Civil Rights Movement

The Civil Rights Movement was a very big part of our country's history and we have had several leaders throughout that time, but there was never one like Martin Luther King Jr.. King was a African American pastor at Dexter Avenue Church. Although, King always knew he wanted to end the segregation and the discrimination that was going on at the time between whites and blacks. He had a numerous amount of inspiring things to say about his race and he told them. King was a nonviolent leader that has impacted the U.S history in various ways by his inspirational marches, writing, and speeches. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. As a young child King was raised in a Christian family and his father was a pastor at the local nearby Ebenezer Church. King was wise since he was a child. “King skipped 9th and 12th grade, and he attended Morehouse College at the age of 15 to study sociology.”(Martin Luther King Jr. 2). However, he soon realized he wanted to be a minister like his father. Soon, he went to Crozer Theological Seminary there he began to ponder about how he can end segregation. King was offered a job as pastor at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church. He had a job there until he wanted to end segregation and discrimination. Since then King had many accomplishments. King was one of the many leaders that ended discrimination and segregation, and it all began with the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Dr. King has had incredible marches and speeches that has changed our country, one of them being the March on Washington. Dr. King impacted our country in huge ways with leading the Civil Rights
