How To Treat Animals In The Hunger Games

The Capitol is the antagonist of this novel because they create The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games are government created “games” that was made to punish the people in the districts for district thirteens rebellion. "whatever words they use, the real message is clear.” ““Look how we take your children and sacrifice them and there's nothing you can do. If you lift a finger, we will destroy every last one of you. Just like we did in District Thirteen"" (Collins 13). The capitol made The Hunger Games to show their power and superiority. The games were made to keep them from rebelling, everyone saw how district thirteen did and they were no match for the Capitol, so with the games it would make hate between the districts, they would not form alliances so they could not rebel. "To make it more humiliating as well as torturous, the Capitol requires us to treat The Hunger Games as a festivity, a sporting event pitting every district against the others" (Collins 19).
