All throughout my life building and fixing various items has been important to my family and me. Growing up I had my fair share of breaking things and poorly attempting to fix them. I was always devastated when I broke things, but my dad did not really seem to mind he likes to fix things. When I was around twelve years old my dad built our shop. The shop held all of our motorcycles, ATVs, and my father’s Dodge pickup. Four years have passed and I finally have my first car; a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass; this was the beginning of my first project with my family. My dad, brother, and I decided to put one subwoofer into my car; I had no idea at the time how to do that. A few hours had passed and I wired up my new radio while my brother and dad wired up the subwoofer and amplifier. After a small handful of problems the Oldsmobile’s sound system was ready. My brother turned on the radio and Miley Cyrus was playing he jokingly turned the radio all the way up; he unknowingly had the amplifier on the highest setting and blew up my new sound system to Miley Cyrus. …show more content…
My dad and I towed this car back; it had a broken transmission. The first thing my dad, uncle and I did was pull the motor; the motor leaked a lot of oil and the transmission was easier to change this way. The Acura stayed in the shop the whole summer; we swapped a 1998 Integra transmission and changed all of the gaskets except for the head. The summer had passed and the Acura was finally running.
