Like Cypher, humanity uses Social media as a crutch to avoid reality. People take photographs, edit them and post them online to portray the perfect version of themselves. This in itself is not problematic. However, it is worrisome that slowly humanity is beginning to believe that an endorsement of our projection of happiness by the masses is requisite for happiness and satisfaction. It has become imbedded in our minds that this is what we desire. So deeply buried are we in this virtual mesh of projected happiness and so comfortable, that the thought of having to break away from it and facing actual life, with all its complexities and complications, terrifies us.
