Humorous Wedding Poem

xTime Hurries On
The rain went away

And the sun came out to stay

The winds died down

And it was a lovely day

So it is as time speeds by

Things change

Times change

We’re like on a magic carpet ride

Sailing through time

Sometimes on calm, sometimes on stormy seas

But each minute and hour of our day

It’s so important what our family and friends say

Let time

Take all it needs from your life

Let time

Give you a chance for happiness

Remember that you are the captain

Of your own life’s ship

You are the only one

That can steer it clear of disaster

Only you can turn the tide

Make it work in your favor

And make the life that you lead

Be a joy to live

Let time enfold

And cradle you

And live each day

As if tomorrow won’t

When we got home for Las Vegas I knew America was going to be so beyond mad at me but we had to get married in that moment, I can't describe the feeling I had for him right then and there and I had to do something to express how I felt so we said “Screw it, we're getting married” but now we're happily married laying on the new couch in Travis’s apartment. Im slowly getting eaten up inside waiting until America comes home so I can show her the ring and let her get her anger out for me going behind her back and eloping. I know if she did that to me I would understand but America's different she loves to be involved in everything and her being at my “wedding” is very important.…

I slowly sat up and looked at the time on my alarm clock. 1:08PM Only a few more hours until the wedding and I'm pretty sure there are some last minute preparations that need to be made. I got up from my bed and tip toed my way to my dad and Kate's room. The house seemed too quiet and so I was suspicious that everyone was sleeping. I cracked open the door and peaked, making sure not to make any sudden noises.…

The bright sunlight descends for the day and across the horizon, twilight is setting a stunning display of kaleidoscopic colors. The colors ricochet off one another chasing the day away. The reddish gold colored fireball, seeming a lifetime ago, had aroused from the eastern sky and now descending into the western hemisphere, yet he is still not home and I begin walking the city streets all alone. Looking like a Weeble wobble toy I aimlessly wander the streets, reminiscing over that perfect night eight months ago.…

I watch the evening glow reflection as it radiates off of the small fountain in the middle of the pond. The melody created by the trickle of water is synchronized with the beat of my heart, each drop brings the realization closer that this will promptly morph into a fazed recollection. As the delicate air kisses my cheeks, I allow my arms to fall and absorb the comforting warmth that the dwindling summer fever generously offers. I inhale a single, prolonged breath, filling my lungs with pure and tasteful air, that you could only receive in the Northwest. The world goes dark as my lids softly drop, however, the Earth continues to sing.…

The sun beats down on our foreheads, sparkling with the sweat that only happens at the peak of the day, in the peak of the summer, in an unshaded, unmowed, front lawn of a pseudo-rural Oklahoman housing edition. We drove thirty minutes out of town to get there, and parked up against a barbed wire fence surrounding a dusty acre of land inhabited by two horses. This parking arrangement immediately made me question my choice of a delicate floral sundress and strappy sandals, which I previously had assumed would be more than appropriate for an outdoor wedding in June. I didn’t know much about the bride, only that she was my best friend’s sister, that she had the same name as me, and that this was her third wedding, so she decided to have it in her front yard for the sake of convenience. The venue twinkled with recycled clear Christmas lights and…
