Next three weeks of my internship were more intense than the last ones. Within that time I have a chance to edit two videos, one of which was shot by the creative director and me; and to work as a researcher on eight projects, some of which are in stage of pre-production and others are potential. The research was conducted for potential Inside Lens program for NHK, UK band TV show, and Panasonic screen promotion video. For Inside Lens, I researched for potential topics, which are Bear Bile medicine, Muslim community, Virgin Academy, sofure (sleeping friends), and Kakuhido group.…

As a Telemetry Volunteer in the extremely busy Telemetry Department of Scripps Prebys Cardiovascular Institute, La Jolla, CA, I contributed over 300-hours to evening shifts in support of Telemetry Technicians, hospital staff, cardiovascular patients, stroke patients, and family members. More specifically, when not checking EKG monitors for malfunctioning telemetry boxes, batteries or leads, I delivered, in accordance with hospital protocols, extra care by: Maintaining, organizing and delivering clean telemetry boxes and batteries; adjusting patients’ EKG leads; replenishing supplies; transporting samples to the lab; running errands for staff; directly assisting nurses in patient’s rooms, including isolation rooms; and kindly, comforting patients…
Initially I started this assignment by carefully reviewing over the worksheet given to me before the in-class assignment. The assignment was to create a scene with “silent tension” and to incorporate several elements such as a moment of pause. Even though I might not have to direct the scene, I started to think in a sense of how a director might approach this assignment and create a scene. I started to reference the “dead theatre” essay written by Peter Brook. I wanted to create a scene that the audience could emotionally and spiritually relate to.…

Stage-managing the spring musical, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying by Abe Burrows, was probably the biggest accomplishment and challenge I've had so far. What stage-managing is, it's essentially an assistant director with a lot of other jobs added onto it. Those jobs include calling cues for the show, making rehearsal reports, taking all the notes you could possibly imagine for a show and working with not one but 4 other directors. . There were many challenges that faced me while working on the musical.…

This year will mark my ninth year working full-time for a local government agency as an administrative assistant and recording-secretary.…

Since we were given the freedom to choose our own teammates to form groups of five, we generally chose to team up with our friends. This resulted in a greater camaraderie within the group. The camaraderie among teammates made us felt that we are all part of the group and each of us held responsibility towards the group. Owing to the mutual understanding between teammates, we got to share and consider each other’s thoughts as well as made important decisions together which reduced a great deal of problems and conflicts within the group.…
We have 5 members in our group of whom 2 were male, and 3 were female. After we were assigned the project, we all came together, and made a commitment to do it better, and succeed at it. Firstly, we welcomed ideas from everyone, without setting any criteria. Our project was to reinvent any product with more features that will be helpful for public. It was a very challenging project because we were to redesign a particular product, which should be more appealing to the costumers in terms of features, solution of particular problems, availability, and cost.…
While some people may think of event management as a degree in party planning, it is gaining credibility as a legitimate career. The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council created event management standards which also led to the definition of exactly what an event is (Robertson, 2015). An event is “a social form that organizes interaction in a distinctive way” or the “gathering of three or more people who agree to assemble for a purpose ostensibly related to the functioning of an organization or group” (Beaulie, 2004). According to Michael Auerbach, “in 2006 there were 51,000 event planners in the U.S. and 39% of those were within an event planning company” which demonstrates the grand size of the industry and its obvious importance to society (2015). The purpose of this paper is to explore a career in event planning.…
