In Jewison’s The Heat of The Night released in 1967, the abuse suggests inhumanity towards Mr.Tibbs while he tries to find justice in the killing of the town’s newest entrepreneur. The newest suspect is Mr.Tibbs a successful police officer. He specializes in homicides in Pennsylvania. He is misjudged at a train station because of the racial cruelty in the south. Once Mr.Tibbs name is cleared he is assigned to the case by his commanding officer back home. He has to put up with the racial slurs,beatings and a terrible work environment while trying to find the real killer.

They decided to mess with him by smashing into the back of his car and chasing him off the road . They finally surrounded him into a warehouse . The drunken white mob grabbed weapons from the warehouse and circled around Mr.Tibbs. They were going to kill him as Mr.Tibbs grabbed a piece of wood to protect himself. As they narrowed in the chief police officer came in and was acting like he was on the drunk boys side. He then started fighting the men off and told them to get out of there. As the chief of police gains knowledge on Mr.Tibbs he starts to understand who he is as a person by giving him some respect. He stood up for Mr.Tibbs when it was important and Mr.Tibbs was grateful for that.
