Graff is constantly “make[ing] [him] into [his] tool” having “just one more trick to play” Graff does this by making the “launches” hate Ender by persuading them that he “[is the]only boy on this launch with any brains” . this challenges the reader because the reader as “adults” are supposed to be role models and teaching children the right thing then what chance does humanity have ?
