Have you ever wondered what coke was like from the start compared to now? Do you know what coke was made for or who even invented it? Wondered how it first served to how it’s being served now. How many different types were there? How was coke advertised? What is the difference between what the Coke brand was first made to the Coke brand of today? He fought in the Civil War, and at the end of the war he decided he wanted to invent something that would bring him commercial success. He invented many drugs, but none of them ever made any money. Coke was given to customers by the fountain until the early 1900’s that is when they started putting coke in glasses. Ted from the world of Coke web site said, “In 1899, two Chattanooga lawyers, Joseph Whitehead and Benjamin Thomas, traveled to Atlanta to negotiate the rights to bottle Coca-Cola. Thomas and Whitehead wanted to capitalize on the popularity of the drink by bottling it to be consumed outside the four walls of a soda fountain. The bottles used in those days were simple straight-sided bottles that were typically brown or clear. The Coca-Cola Company required that the bottlers emboss the famous Coca-Cola logo onto every bottle. However, competitor brands like Koka-Nola, Ma Coca-Co, Toka-Cola and even Koke copied or only slightly modified the spencerian script logo. These competitor bottles created confusion among consumers. While The Coca-Cola Company began litigation against these infringements, the cases often took years and the bottlers were constantly asking for more protection.” (Ryan) When they first started making the glass bottles they wanted to make the glass bottles different from the rest. They wanted to be different so that the customers who bought coke would know if it was the right stuff or a knock off. Now the name Coke has different ways of being made there is the most famous Coke, Coke Life, Coke Zero, and Diet Coke, and they all have their special flavors that go with them like cherry. Coke doesn’t just sell coke they sell sport drinks (Powerade), bottled water (Dasani/ Smart Water), and energy drinks (Nos). When coke was first being sold it was mainly in the United States but now Coke is being sold all over the world In certain restaurants they have the newest coke fountain. This coke fountain can create up to 1oo different combinations of any of the any flavor drink that you just want to try or you could just go with the old classic
