Time makes fools of all of us. I’m not the same stallion that I used to be. The days of me drinking until four in the morning are far behind me. I mean I can still do it but instead of a cheeseburger to recover, I need three days of rest and IV bag. Just like my drinking tolerance my music tolerance has changed. This is something that will happen to all of us. We get older and our bodies change and our music palate also changes. This leads to the question, Am I getting older or is hip-hop terrible nowadays ?
As a music journalist, I gotta be open to all types of music.There’s is a lot of music that I have to hear that I particularly don’t enjoy. You have to be unbiased and go with open mind when listening to something you might not enjoy. Lately, I been hearing from a lot of people about how hip-hop is terrible. This come from various sources. Whether it is music blogs, artists or just some friends, they all seem to have this opinion that hip-hop nowadays is bad. Music can adapt to its audience . No one is forcing you to listen to it but you should. Notices how it has change from what it used to be. Think of why has the music change and how society has played a part of those changes. I’m not telling you to listen to all of Future’s albums but catch a few songs. There might be something there that you can enjoy.I mentioned in the beginning my drinking tolerance has change as well as my music tolerance. So I suggest to these people that complain about the “new” hip-hop to take their music as they would a new drink. Don’t try to be cool and chug a lot of it because you might end up sick, throwing up and never trying it again. Instead take small sips and see how you like it. Remember, when trying new hip-hop or new alcoholic drinks the key is
