During his presidency, in 1816, he gave a thumbs up to the Louisiana purchase which would double the size of the united states. He also displayed the qualities of a successful leader, who was powerful and lead from the front. Yet manages to stay peaceful. His Presidency is also commonly referred to as “the era of good times” because during his presidency the U.S was not at war with anyone. As a part of the continental congress from 1783-1786, he became the vocal supporter of the fact that the constitution should be amended and must include the bill of rights.
