Good points! Some of the topics in the articles reminded me of the movie “John Q”. John Q’s insurance did not cover the surgery, so decided to hold the hospital for hostage until his son received a heart transplant. I agree with the hospital drug expenses; however, some of the hospital expenses are tied up with that is process to prevent staff from stealing medications. For example, I was admitted into a hospital where the medications were not stored on the floor locked up. The medications were ordered from the hospital pharmacy sent through a machine, similar to a drive through pharmacy. I believe some of the cost of the medication is due to the equipment.
