The Royal 22e Regiment work adequately together. However, a few individuals catch the eye. Firstly, Corporal Joseph Kaeble, who showed heart, albeit nearly every other part of his body was crippled. Here is his story. He was born on May 4, 1892 in the French-Canadian village of St. Louise, Quebec. The Great War broke out in 1914, and Joseph Kaeble was the perfect man for the job. After months of training, he shipped overseas with the 22nd battalion (Van Doos). Serving for two whole years in Western European trenches, Kaeble received the Military Medal for his inspiring gallantry after being wounded.
