He is average for his age to be in kindergarten. Student B is the most immature compared to the rest of the students in the class. He previously attended one year of preschool before attending kindergarten. Student B has a younger brother who is three years old. Both of his parents are involved in the community as middle and high school teachers. When taking the kindergarten test Student B scored in the lower middle. He has since been retested on the material he missed and knows the content. Academically he falls into the lower area for knowing content such as handwriting and drawing. His drawings consist of scribbles and stick people. He races through all of his work to finish first. He usually has most of the correct answers in his individual class work but it is hurting him because he is not taking the time to refine his motor skills such as with writing and cutting. Student B often does things to get in trouble on purpose, he thrives on negative attention from others. He has a behavior plan to reward his positive behavior in three different ways. Negative punishments do not seem to faze him, normally parents are contacted to be aware of what is going on. Student B is very fidgety and has a lot of difficulty staying seated more than a few minutes. He has a special seat by the teacher to help keep him on track. I believe that his lack of maturity is the reason he has problems in school, I believe that as he
